Co-Maid of Honor

Alisa Tantraphol

Co-Maid of Honor

I am blessed to have the support of these four beautiful, brilliant, strong, creative, fun, and supportive women in my life. I am so thankful to have them stand beside me on one of the most important days of my life.

Alisa is my older sister and best friend. She has been my teacher and life coach, adventure buddy, supporter, confidant, shoulder to cry on, food and shopping partner, and horrible-romantic-comedy-watching accomplice. She has edited my essays, treated me to pamper days and delicious meals, taken me snowboarding and white water rafting, and stayed up late countless nights just to talk. She is definitely one of the biggest influencers in my life. She’s always the first person I call with news or to seek advice. She is always cheerful and thoughtful and kind, and everyone loves her--most of all, me! She is incredibly smart and is one of the brightest parts of my life. I am so incredibly lucky to have her for a big sister! Special thanks for all your input on my countless "what do you think about this?" wedding-related emails!

Van and I became friends back in 2009 when we started working together. We fell in love with each other immediately. (And that’s saying a lot, because I don’t ever really like anyone when I first meet them.) I love the way we can just look at each other and bust up laughing. She is a sweetheart and true friend, and has an infectious appreciation and love for all the things that make life beautiful. Van taught me how to really live life and have fun. She's also one of the best event planners I know--she is incredibly creative and artsy, thoughtful, and fun. Overall, she is one of the most caring and amazing women I know! Special thanks for helping me make all the wedding decorations, coordinating the bachelorette party, and staying so excited about the wedding throughout the long engagement!

Erin is the reason that Mike and I met and became friends. We all lived in the same dorm our first year of college, and Erin was the one who brought us together for lunch. Over the years, Erin has been my partner in crime, my confidant, my Target shopping buddy, and my standing Friday lunch date. She is a true, true friend and is always there when I need her. We got each other through the painful growing years of college and immediate post-college, and she has helped me move at least 3 times. She is my go-to for questions on make up, legal matters, and random gossip. Special thanks for attending bridal shows with me and helping me narrow down vendors!

Rose is my big sister and one of the most brilliant writers I have ever read. (Seriously. Check out her yogarose.net blog where she somehow weaves together insightful life lessons, yoga, and social media in a profound and not at all cheesy way!) To me, Rose has done it all and seen it all. We’re a lot alike in many ways (the Tantraphol sisters live by the Rule of 2: on any given topic--barring sushi, Thai food, desserts, and yoga-- two of us will absolutely love it, and the other will hate it.) Her journalistic background and gently fierce personality make her my ultimate truth-o-meter: when I want to hear straight, no-nonsense advice, I call Rose. She understands my perspective, but won’t sugarcoat her views. She’s strangely fierce around protecting her family (and paying the bill at family dinners) and she’s always intensely into some fad for a month before moving on to something else...and I love watching her journey. She is generous to a fault, and being her baby sister, I have always been the lucky beneficiary of her love! Special thanks for giving me early morning work out wake-up calls for almost a whole year to get me in shape for the wedding!
